Our group was formed in 2005 by a few enthusiastic volunteers who were already employed by the Stichting Nederlands Opvangcentrum voor Papegaaien (N.O.P.).  The N.O.P. is a sanctuary or refuge for many kinds of unwanted exotic birds (mainly parrots) or for birds which may be injured or incapacitated in any way.  The main goal of our association is the promotion of the N.O.P. in order to solicit financial donations or gifts to support projects within the N.O.P. and to obtain financial sponsorship of the bird cages at our park. 

The N.O.P. receives no financial subsidies whatsoever from the local municipality or the government and is entirely dependent on donations, gifts or sponsorship.  The more public awareness we can generate for N.O.P., the more support (financial or otherwise) we can raise, and therefore the more we can do to help give a better life to the birds in the care of N.O.P.
